Mwalyego PB is what the coffee industry calls a “peaberry” coffee. Peaberry coffees are defined by a naturally occurring mutation present in arabica and robusta coffee varieties. This mutation causes only one bean to develop within the coffee cherry rather than two. Peaberries are estimated to make up to around 5–10% of a harvest and are considered to be quite the specialty coffee.
